Pure Pascal
Pure Pascal for the Atari ST
Pure Pascal saw the light in 1992. It was very much compatable with Borland Turbo Pascal 6.0. Later versions were compatible with borland Pascal 7. It has comparable Dos, Graph and Crt units so you can port Turbo Pascal programs from DOS to the ST. You won't create GEM programs that way but it can be a start. The VDI and AES command are in the GEM unit and there is a TOS unit for GEMDOS.
The compiler supports 68020/030 processors and 68881/2 coprocessors.
Pure Pascal also supports inline assembler code.
The quality and speed of compiled code is very good and comparable with Pure C.
The IDE is not a GEM program even when it looks like one. You can see it in the first screenshot this is Falcon 16 colours. It should have grey bars on the windows. This can be problematic in multitasking and you can't use accesories and such. However it is a fast scrolling editor.
